I'm guessing this is a Windows version and/or laptop firmware problem. ![]() Changing what happens "When I close the lid" doesn't affect this process at all. Nothing in power options or anywhere else in windows settings seems to change this. Shuts the display off, turns it back on with input, and if I tell it to sleep, it requires a password. On that laptop if I ran this same script it works perfectly. Instead of "every time" my old laptop (Win10 1909) had "When PC wakes up from sleep" as the other option besides "never". global-hotkey visual-studio-2019 authentication. I don't like this from a security perspective. A restart is only needed if you cant stop those applications during installation. You can view the currently active keyboard shortcuts in VS Code in the Command Palette (View-> Command Palette) or in the Keyboard Shortcuts editor (File > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts). In Windows settings, if I set "Require sign in" to "never" instead of "every time", the script does what I want it to, it turns the screen back on instantly after I give input. Very similar to if I just told it to go to sleep from the start menu. The third example will also close Visual Studio after apply the settings. The second example restores the Visual C# default profile.
